Background
The Israeli education system is facing a shortage of qualified English teachers who are overwhelmed with their workload. As a result, English teachers tend to limit the number of written and oral English assignments they assign to students. This is because providing comprehensive feedback and grading requires a significant amount of time and effort. To address this issue, the Ministry of Education is actively exploring technological solutions that can alleviate the burden on teachers, enabling them to assign more tasks without compromising the quality of feedback and grading. Results
Three companies showcased their technologies to the Ministry of Education, demonstrating their capabilities in a sandbox environment set by the judging committee. The results were presented through a comprehensive presentation to the ministry’s experts, highlighting the accuracy of the technologies in real-life scenarios for future procurement purposes. The companies were duly compensated for their demonstrations, gaining valuable data and establishing vital connections in the process.

This challenge demonstrated remarkable expertise in applying innovative technological solutions to long-standing issues. The problem of insufficient English teachers has persistently impacted the country. These tools will hopefully support current English teachers by alleviating some of the feedback burden and facilitating an increase in written and spoken English assignments.
